What is NYES?
National Young Economists Summit (NYES) is a summit that provides a platform for participants to exchange and share their ideas and experience besides exposing the participants to the essence and insights of the specially selected themes. They will learn how to apply economic theories in real life as we provide an equal opportunity for students to develop skills throughout our specially designed challenges.
What are the activities that will be going on throughout NYES 2017?
The activities that participants will be going through in NYES include symposium, forum, and the 'E' Challenge, a specially designed exchange rate simulation game.
Where will NYES 2017 be held?
NYES 2017 will be held at the Faculty of Economics & Administration, University of Malaya.
When will NYES 2017 be held?
NYES will be held on 14th & 15th of January 2017 (Saturday & Sunday).
Who can attend NYES 2017?
Student who pursuing their studies in public or private pre-university courses, colleges or undergraduate studies are most encouraged to participate.
How much does it cost to participate in NYES 2017?
The registration is free! However, participants who got selected from the screening process are required to pay RM80/each*.
*RM80 for each participant (RM320 per team), which include meals, accommodation, transportation within UM campus and a complimentary NYES 2017 shirt.
Will food be provided during the event?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch, teatime, dinner and supper will be provided.
Will transportation be provided during the event?
No transportation will be provided.
Will accommodation be provided during the event?
Yes. It is compulsory for every participant to stay in the hostel provided.
What is the event's dress code?
Participants are required to dress formally for the symposium and forum session. For The 'E' Challenge sessions, participants are required to change into smart casual manner while wearing the provided NYES 2017 shirt.
Will food be catered for vegetarians?
Yes. We have the option of vegetarian food. Please choose the option ‘Vegetarian’ under dietary
requirements when you register.
When is the deadline to register?
The deadline for registration is on the 5th of December 2016. (Subject to be changed)
